The OECD Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct – Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), Indigenous Rights and the OECD Guidelines

This was the third webinar in a special series co-hosted by the Australian National Contact Point for Responsible Business Conduct (AusNCP) and the Diplomacy Training Program (DTP).

The webinar explained why the OECD Guidelines are important for multinational enterprises when it comes to respecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

AusNCP Independent Examiner, John Southalan spoke about what the OECD Guidelines expect in this regard. They took attendees through past National Contact Point cases. Other attendees spoke about FPIC in both Australian and overseas contexts.
