Governance and advisory board

The AusNCP Governance and Advisory Board (Board):

The Board plays an important role in ensuring that the AusNCP is visible, accessible, transparent and accountable. In doing so, the Board helps the AusNCP meet Australia’s obligations under the OECD Guidelines.

Board member responsibilities

The Board formally meets twice a year and also engages regularly throughout the year.

Board members provide independent and impartial advice to Independent Examiners and the AusNCP Secretariat, drawing on their expertise, organisations and networks.

Board members use their networks, events and publications to promote:

  • responsible business conduct standards
  • the AusNCP’s service offering.

Board members may be called upon to form a Board Review Committee to undertake a procedural review of an Independent Examiner’s handling of an AusNCP Final Statement. Other Board member responsibilities are outlined in the Board’s Terms of Reference linked below.

Board membership

The Board includes:

  • 8 members representing Australian Government agencies
  • 8 members representing the business community, civil society and unions.
