This is a 5‑day training program for Indonesian non‑governmental organisations and human rights and environmental defenders in Jakarta, Indonesia. It will help participants learn more about:
- international standards on business and human rights
- new national and international rules on human rights due diligence
- the OECD Guidelines on responsible business conduct
The program will support Indonesian civil society and government efforts to:
- include human rights in Indonesia’s OECD accession process
- set up a non‑judicial grievance system called the National Contact Point
Program objectives
- Learn about the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and human rights due diligence
- Learn about the OECD Guidelines, National Contact Points and good international practices
- Join practical discussions with Indonesian NGOs, government and businesses
- Understand how business can affect women and people with disabilities
Presenters
AusNCP Board member, Serena Lilywhite will be a primary trainer at this event. Bryce Williamson, from the AusNCP Secretariat, and AusNCP Independent Examiner, Shiv Martin, will also present virtually.
