AusNCP Independent Examiner positions available
Treasury is seeking two suitably qualified and experienced people to undertake the role of Independent Examiner for the Australian National Contact Point (AusNCP) for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
AusNCP Independent Examiners undertake activities to promote responsible business conduct under the OECD Guidelines and help resolve complaints against multinationals (also known as specific instances) by providing conciliation services within a non-judicial OECD framework.
The OECD Guidelines cover all areas of business responsibility including disclosure, human rights, employment and industrial relations, environment, anti-corruption, competition and taxation.
As an Independent Examiner, you will collaborate and build strong relationships with businesses, governments, and non‑government organisations. You will work closely with a small secretariat in Treasury, an advisory Board of government and non-government members, and a wide range of other stakeholders and experts to support your role.
Qualifications or significant experience in mediation, international law and/ or corporate governance are desirable.
A Commonwealth baseline security clearance, or the capacity to successfully obtain such a clearance, is a mandatory requirement for the role.
