This third webinar will be about how the OECD Guidelines are important for multinational enterprises when it comes to respecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples. This includes their right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), both in Australia and around the world. It is well known that mining and resource industries in Australia and other countries can often harm Indigenous Peoples, their land, their way of life and their sacred places.
This webinar will help people understand the responsibility companies have to be careful and respectful. It will also explain how the Guidelines and National Contact Points (NCPs) support and protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples.
